St. George College Library

A new library was built suspended over the existing single storey drama and canteen facilities incorporating significant structural steel members. This construction also allowed for no internal structural supports making it an ideal open space design for a library. Precast acoustic curtain wall construction.

A link was created connecting the new library with the 1st floor of their existing building. A lift was also constructed allowing disabled people to use the Library and connect access to the 1st floor of the school.

Construction works were conducted whilst the school was kept operational, works were programed and scheduled to minimize disruption to school day to day operations.

Tempo Constructions won a commendation in the 2010 Master Builders Excellence Awards “Excellence in a Commercial Refurbishment / Redevelopment up to $5 Million” for this project.
